Our History
West Anglia Crossroads was establised in September 2006 following the amalgamation of Crossroads Caring for Carers Huntingdonshire, South & East Cambridgeshire with Crossroads Peterborough.
In 2009 we became Crossroads Care Cambridgeshire as a result of a national rebranding exercise by Crossroads Care, so that our name really says what we do!
In April 2008, the Fenland Crossroads scheme merged with West Anglia Crossroads which resulted in the organisation covering all of Cambridgeshire outside of the City boundary, some of which is very rural and leaves carers very isolated.
Huntingdonshire Crossroads was set-up in 1985, Crossroads South & East Cambridgeshire was set-up in 1985 and Fenland Crossroads was set-up in 1983.
Nationally, the Crossroads Association was set-up in 1974 and supported just 28 families. Today over 4.4 million care hours are provided every year by member schemes to more than 35,000 carers - the equivalent of over 500 years of care.
