Carers Emergency Service (ICER)

Crossroads Care Cambridgeshire are contracted by Cambridgeshire County Council to provide a Carers Emergency Service (ICER) throughout the county.

What is the ICER Scheme?
The Scheme has been set up to help Carers plan for situations when a sudden unexpected emergency stops them from carrying out their caring role. It stands for Individual Carers Emergency Respite.

How do I register?
The first stage is to complete a “Carers Assessment” which can be done by contacting your Cambridgeshire County Council Care Manager/Care Coordinator or by ringing: Cambridgeshire Direct Contact Centre 0345 045 5202.

The second stage requires an ICER Contingency Plan to be completed which is then followed up by a phone call or a home visit to ensure ICER staff are able to accommodate the Carer’s requirements. You are then sent a copy of your plan along with a letter confirming you are registered with the Scheme.

If you would like further information or would like to register with the ICER Scheme please call: Cambridgeshire Direct Contact Centre on 0345 045 5202.
